One of the most delicious spots in Gahanna just got a little sweeter. Koko Tea Salon & Bakery, named 614 Magazine’s ColumBEST bakery TWO years in a row, is now serving lunch. And we’re not talking just a simple sandwich or cup of soup, but delicious gourmet creations with names that will have your mouth watering before your mid-morning coffee break.
Owner Ava Misseldine taps her Hawaiian roots with an amazing “Luau BBQ Rotisserie Chicken” made with her Dad’s famous Luau BBQ sauce, plus cheddar cheese, red onion and red cabbage slaw. Then there’s the “Blue Moon” (made with aged roast beef, bleu cheese, caramelized onions, baby spinach, Roma tomato and rosemary mayo); the “Turkey Prime” (oven roasted turkey, sautéed mushrooms & onions, baby Swiss, Roma tomatoes & spinach) and the “Mediterranean Veggie” (homemade hummus, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, Roma tomatoes, red onion, Kalamata olives & feta).
Wanna talk salads? The Thai Chicken delivers Ginger Thai rotisserie chicken, mandarin oranges, slice almonds, goat cheese, pickled beets, baby spinach, sesame seeds and homemade Asian sesame dressing. Summer Market features strawberries, shaved sweet potato, asparagus, baby spinach, goat cheese, pecans and homemade raspberry Cabernet vinaigrette.
And I’m pretty sure it would be illegal to leave Koko without indulging in one of the to-die-for cupcakes (Red Velvet, Berry Lavender, Salted Caramel and many other amazing flavors), brownies, Macarons or truffles.
Koko is a Tea Salon too, so be sure to sample one of the amazing blends—hot or iced. Not a tea drinker? Try the house Kona coffee.
Now, THAT redefines lunch –right?!
