Clothes Mentor (CM) is an upscale resale store for women that sells brand name clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. Clothes Mentor also offers women the opportunity to sell the styles they’re not wearing anymore to our store and receive cash for all items purchased. CM’s first location opened on Henderson Road in 2001. The chain is the creation of Lynn & Dennis Blum of Columbus, Ohio. The couple’s successful history of founding high-value resale businesses spans 30 years and includes resale superstars Once Upon A Child and Plato’s Closet. The Blums currently own and operate 6 CM locations in the Columbus and Toledo markets. Clothes Mentor is franchised across the country.

Our customers also value the fact that they can walk away with cash for the styles they sell to us. Customers sell items for a variety of reasons including; change in style taste, change in body type or it just looked better on the rack than it did when they got it home. We often get items that are brand new with tags.

Q: What sets CM apart from the competition?
The quality of the items available for purchase at Clothes Mentor sets us apart. The styles we sell have been in retail stores within the last 1-2 years. They are current styles, in great condition. Shoppers can also purchase a wide selection of designer handbags at vastly reduced prices, making owning a Gucci or Kate Spade handbag more affordable. Paying cash on the spot for items we purchase is also something that most other stores don’t offer customers.

Q: What would shoppers be surprised to find at CM?
High quality, current styles in brand names like Talbots, Inc., Banana Republic, White House Black Market, J. Jill, Chicos, Ann Taylor, and Limited. They are also surprised to see we carry maternity and brand name athletic wear including athletic sneakers.

Clothes Mentor is not a typical “thrift or second-hand store”. Our customers don’t sacrifice style or quality by shopping with us. Instead, they are able to stretch their budget further and still get today’s brand name clothing, shoes and accessories at a fraction of the cost.
